Call a family meeting, and explain that kids who pick on other kids usually have their own issues and that they should forgive and forget. Walk with your kid to school the next day and confront the bully on your own. Drive your kid to the bully’s house and have a discussion with them and their parents. Question 3 Your kid doesn’t want to eat the dinner you prepared them, you: Tell them that they have to sit at the dinner table until they consume every last bite. Explain that you know they are normally good eaters, and try to figure out if something is bothering them. Tell them they are welcome to eat what is there, or they can feel free to make something themselves. Invite them to help you make something else that they will enjoy. Make them something you know they will like and call it a draw. Question 4 Your child really wants to go to summer camp, but you can’t afford it, you: Take on a second job so you can afford to send them. Sit down with them and draw up a plan for you both to raise the money together. Tell them to call the camp and apply for a job to work there. Get a job working at the camp in exchange for tuition. Explain that you can’t afford it right now, but maybe next year. Question 5 Your kid is playing a sport, and the coach barely lets them play in the games, you: Go directly to the coach and demand that your child play as much as possible. Tell them that the coach just hasn’t seen them play enough to know how good they are, and they just need to keep working hard.
